Travel Awards Committee

Travel Awards focuses upon supporting graduate student travel to CWPA. In particular, we hope to use our funding to increase the presence of underrepresented graduate students at CWPA and in WPA-GO.

Carolyne King

Carolyne is a fourth year doctoral candidate at the University of Delaware. She is currently working on her dissertation, “Further Reading:Literacy Practices and Perspectives from the First-Year Writing Classroom” which examines the ways that students read and work with source material when composing researched essays. When she’s not on writing, she spends time with her dog, Gondor, and outside gardening, running, cycling, and enjoying the sun.

Megan Weaver

Megan Weaver

Megan Weaver is a PhD Candidate in English at Old Dominion University. Her research focuses on critical language awareness as an equitable stance toward language in the writing classroom. She also supports writing instructors by facilitating professional development on critical language awareness pedagogy. Megan has been a member of WPA-GO for three years, serving on the Mentoring Strands Committee, the Research/Writing Group Committee, and now the Travel Awards Committee.
